Product Description A Recent Winner of the 2010 Indie Book Finalist Award in the Finance Category. The reader should expect to learn more on the Modern Recession from this book than from any other source. It is easy to understand, comprehensive, and well supported by facts. Areas investigated include: free trade and its deficit, separation of wealth, the housing bubble, tax issues, lobbyist problems, the national debt, etc. Proper root cause analyses provide logical assessment of the real issues. For example, the reader may be interested to learn: 1) Separation of wealth has increased 28% since 1980 (about 1% per year) and is a leading reason for tight money in the recession. 2) This has lead to a hoarding crisis. 3) The top 1% to 5% of the wealthiest individuals in the 35% bracket (some who make > $1 billion/year) only pay about a 20% tax. 4) The free trade deficit has accumulated to over $7.5 trillion, and is the main reason why the U.S. economy and our national debt are increasingly owned by foreigners. 5) Related outsourcing has led to a 33% decrease in manufacturing job losses in the last 10 years. 6) Foreclosures, government deregulation, and unsubstantiated marketplace rumors ignited a U.S. financial collapse toppling Lehman Brothers and 229 failed and 733 bailed-out banks. 7) All these issues have taken a toll on the national debt. 8) Even the trade deficit has tax related losses that are correlated to the national debt. These are substantial losses that cause us to question trade deficit ethical issues and a clear violation of constitutional law! 9) A purpose of government is proper decision making, yet U.S. economists and legislatures do not use proper problem solving methods. Our nation is in the hands of individuals who are ether strongly influenced by lobbyists or jump right to the solution without root cause analysis. All these are interrelated facts that contribute to our unreliable economy. Therefore, the modern recession will linger until real economic change occurs.

| Customer Reviews: Filled with positive suggestions to implement both on an individual and a national level March 10, 2010 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) The Truth of the Modern Recession: Root Causes & Reliable Solutions presents the fundamentals underpinning America's current economic problems and issues in plain terms for readers of all backgrounds. Chapters discuss the root causes of "tight money" (why is there so much economic hoarding?), how certain aspects of national policy (particularly a tax policy which essentially neglects to tax more than 35% of an individual's wealth) could be altered to provide for a more robust economy, a seven-year plan to eliminate national debt, recommendations for job creation and retention investing, problems with free trade that have caused job losses, and much more. A surprising chapter suggesting long-term solutions for problems in the Middle East rounds out this opinionated yet persuasively argued compendium of economic definitions, explanations, and recommendations - filled with positive suggestions to implement both on an individual and a national level. Highly recommended.
Political Must Read February 2, 2010 Jerry Wick I found Dr. Feinberg's book The Truth of the Modern Recession to be a book
that not only discusses economic issues but also presents well thought out conclusions. It seems, in retrospect, that many of the "Why" of "Why didn't action X cause result Y?" activities should ( and could ) have been known before spending millions of our dollars. I found Dr. Feinberg's discussion on money "hoarding" to be my personal "aha" moment in the book. The data, in all parts of the book, is presented in logical bite size tidbits. Simple reliability methods are used to explore potential cause and / or effect. It is amazing how clear the true cause, or real solution is, once the data is considered carefully. Each politician or candidate should be required to write a book report on this publication. If you want to explore REAL solutions to some of our national problems then read the book!
