Elec­tions are a re­ac­tive/chem­i­cal pro­cess – not a con­form­ing/sci­en­tif­ic one – cam­paigns and elec­tions are more akin to a per­son­al ro­mance than any­thing root­ed in loy­al po­lit­i­cal rea­son­ing.
